Dr Chidinma Henrietta ONWUBERE is a full time lecturer at The National Open University of Nigeria. She is the Head of the Mass Communication Department in the Faculty of  Social Sciences.   She holds a BA (Honours) Eng/Edu from the University of Nigeria Nsukka. She equally holds a PGD, MSc & PhD degres in Mass Communication, all from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. Chidinma is interested in studying Children and the Media, especially in the Sub – Saharan Africa and essentially in Nigeria.   Her main focus is the pedagogical values that could be derived from the excessive exposure of Children to the electronic media. She has a passion for harnessing, for specific child development, the positive outcomes of the electronic media rather than the vulnerability of children to the ill effects of unguided use of the media.
