Mercy Okwoli was born on the 6th November, 1979 in Sabo Gari, Kano to the family of Mr Joseph Ichaba. She is from Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State. After her primary education, she completed her secondary and tertiary education and graduated with Bachelor in Library Science and M.Sc in Library and Information Science in 1999 ans 2015 respectively at University of Maiduguri and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Presently, she is pursuing her PhD in the Federal University of Technology Minna. She is happily married with children. Her hobbies include Reading, Teaching, Research, Singing, Travelling and Surfing the Internet. She has some publications on the website, kubanni.abu.edu.ng.

She has had a successful career in Library and Information  Science. She first worked in Essence International School and then the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) where she is a Librarian at the Kaduna Study Centre. She is also a member of the Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria and Nigerian Library Association. There are journals and seminars publications to her name. She is responsible for providing library and research services for  the Study Centre and also maintenance of  the library and its collections.

She is open to new challenges that can bring out the best in her, and enable her contribute to the upliftment of Librarianship as a profession.
